Pushing Too Far

Another mistake that even I’ve been guilty of in the past is pushing it too far.

First off, you need to judge each girl and each situation. Some girls are going to be like wild fire with banter. They’re going to get it and be awesome at it. These girls are not only more fun, but you can get away with a little bit more.

Other girls don’t understand it as much. I run into this a lot because I like Spanish girls, some of whom are unbelievable at bantering, but usually, any sort of foreign girls where there’s a language barrier, maybe, three seconds behind when you speak to them in English, they have to formulate what you’re saying in their mind and, because of that, it doesn’t work. They don’t get it and by the time they actually figure out what you said, the moment’s past and it gets weird.

You want to make sure that you’re dealing with a girl that’s going to get the banter.

Stupid girls are kind of funny because, when I teach bantering lines like cal ing her blonde or dumb, there’s a difference between calling a girl that when she’s acting that way and a girl who really is that stupid. A girl who actually fits that stereotype is going to have trouble keeping up with bantering. It’s fun to tease her with it a bit like,

“Hey, did I go over your head,” and she may laugh, but it’s not going to work if she’s just not getting it.

You also want to avoid insulting her about her physical appearance. A lot of girls, when you start bantering, may actually make a joke about you, like if you’re kind of skinny, and they may make condescending jokes about your big muscles. But girls, generally, won’t make fun of your weight if you’re overweight, so girls usually won’t call you fat.

But if she goes somewhere towards your physical appearance, like the clothes you’re wearing, you want to avoid going back at her physical appearance because girls are a lot more sensitive about that. If you say something that makes her feel unsexy or self-conscious, it’s actually going to ruin the rest of the conversation with you because that’s what’s going to be on her mind.

She’s not going to feel attractive or sexy, so those emotions are going to be hard to get back out of her.

Losing your composure when you get insulted is another mistake a lot of guys make, and it’s even happened to me while bantering with women. For instance, she may say something that kind of strikes a nerve in you or make you look kind of stupid in front of people and you just let her have it.

The goal here is not to let her have it, but you also have to avoid destroying her confidence or ruining her night. You have to find a way to not let her have it while being playful and fun.

Even if she says something that kind of shakes you a little bit, don’t go back at her in an insulting way.
